Our Lady of Guadalupe

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE

December 12

The League of Eucharistic Guardians is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. All she asked of St. Juan Diego was for a little chapel in which Holy Mass could be offered and where Jesus could be adored in the Most Blessed Sacrament... Look what happened as a result!

Speaking of the Extraordinary Year of the Eucharist, Pope John Paul the Great says that: "If the only result of this Year is a revival in all Christian communities of the celebration of Sunday Mass and an increase in Eucharistic adoration outside Mass, this Year would be abundantly successful." We believe that Our Lady of Guadalupe would most certainly agree!

Our Lady of Guadalupe is the woman clothed with the sun (Rv 12:1), not the sun in the sky but, rather, she is clothed with the glory of Her Son in the Eucharist because where Jesus is, there too is Mary. These two Hearts beat as one as she and her Son are perfectly united.

When she appeared in 1531 on Tepeyac hill in Mexico, what Juan Diego first saw was not the Virgin, but the brilliant light of a Sacred Host glorified. Then he saw her in the light coming from the Eucharist, and wherever this light shone the earth was transformed.

All she asked was for a chapel, which has since become a giant Basilica, because in it would dwell her Son. Her mission is to teach us to know, love and adore Him. Our Lady of Guadalupe comes to us as a Missionary of the Blessed Sacrament. The light enveloping her is, in fact, the very message she brings as she leads us directly to Jesus. The meaning of the radiating light around her is to identify Our Lady of Guadalupe with the Eucharist.

With these Eucharistic Rays, she is proclaiming His Real Presence and inviting all her children to come to Him in the Blessed Sacrament, showing us that these rays are the graces we receive when we come into His Presence.

"All of us, gazing on the Lord, are being transformed from glory unto glory into His very image." (2 Cor 3:18)

And, with these luminous rays surrounding her, she is announcing the great Eucharistic Miracle to come when, as the rising sun is clear to all, "there will arise the Sun of Justice with its healing rays" (Mal 3:20).

For when there are enough chapels of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration to satisfy the thirst in the Heart of Jesus to be loved by His Bride, the Church, He will then show the whole world His Divine Mercy by revealing what is hidden, the glory of His Love in the Eucharist.

What Juan Diego saw, the whole world will see, "the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all mankind shall see it together" (Is 40:5). Through this great miracle, every heart will be converted to the Heart of Jesus, "that all may be one" (Jn 17:21).

Then, when mankind comes back to God through this Eucharistic Miracle, nature will come back to man and everyone will rejoice in the transformation of all creation as we will have a new and more glorious earthly paradise, where there will be no need of the sun because the Lamb will be the light (cf Rv 21:23) and "His dwelling shall be glorious" (Is 11:10).
