Lord, make me keenly aware that You are present here;
present in this congregation gathered here as Your Bride...

As I presume now to preach to the People of Your Covenant...
As I presume now to preach in Your Most Holy Name...
Sweet Jesus make me humble!

Let not the falsehood, the evil and the ugliness...
that arise from my dull mind, stubborn will and cold heart...
hinder the transmission of Your Good News today.
May I decrease so that You may increase!

Should the words that I preach...
find favor in the Presence of Your Father...

let me not be filled with pride!
For did You not ride triumpant into Jerusalem...
on the back of a dumb ass?

Breathe forth Your Holy Spirit upon me now!

The author is a husband, father and permanent Deacon who has been promoting Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration (PEA) since 1993. He has preached and established chapels of PEA in Burma, Colombia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and the United States. In 1999 he began working in the Philippines as he believes that from there PEA will effectively spread throughout Southeast Asia. In 2001 he co-founded, together with the Rev. Msgr. Josefino S.
